Next after its done boiling I add some chopped parsley, white pepper and some garlic powder. Stir! And there you have it! A quick lunch that tastes like regular Alfredo! But will over Half the calories!!! This recipe is only 290 calories for a cup of it prepared compared to over 600 called per serving of regular Alfredo!!!

Homemade Oatmeal to Go!!

So Easy and Filling! Not to mention good for you!

Here's what you'll need:

2 cups oats
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 sugar (you can also use Splenda)
1 egg
1 1/4 cup of milk
2 teaspoons of vanilla

Also anything you want in them. I decided to make a few different kinds. I had cinnamon, blueberries and strawberries, peanut butter, brown sugar and maple syrup(light). But you can put in whatever you like!

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Next add all your dry ingredients into a large bowl, mix. Add all your wet ingredients into a smaller bowl, stir your wet ingredients together good. Now add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Next put your fill your paper cups with the mixture(you may want to spray a little non stick spray into them first to prevent sticking) Now add whatever toppings or mix ins(you can also do this in small bowls before you fill the cups) Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes! Let cool completely!!

Depending on the toppings you put into them is going to determine the total calories but the base recipe without any add ins is about 130 calories per serving, which isn't a bad breakfast!
Enjoy!!

Here is The March Madness Workout

I'm also adding a little of butt/legs work out from the Victoria Secrets work outs!!

How to Save your Exercise/Diet Plan!

Ok so today as I was eating a very unhealthy lunch and realized I had completely been neglecting my diet/workout for the past 4 days (see post below)and I became kinda depressed. And started asking the normal questions. Why didn't I just bring my work out clothes and shoes? Why didn't I eat better for the past few meals? Etc. Well I had to stop myself.

Ok so I skipped everything for Four days. Now it's Punishment Time! Tonight I am going to eat salad and protein for dinner and here comes the big sting.. I'm going to do all my missed March Madness workouts...Tonight!!

Here are the keys when you've missed your workouts or you've not followed your diet.

1.You pick up right were you left off! Once you've realized you messed up, start fixing it!
2. Just keep going! Just because you've messed up doesn't mean you should quit!
3. Always stay motivated! Keep something or some one around that you can look at or talk to so you stay motivated and focused!
4. Quit making excuses! Any excuse no matter what it is (I'm tired, I'm too busy) is still just that an Excuse!
5. Quit talking bad about yourself! Working out isn't just physical, a lot of it is mental too! If you keep putting yourself down and talking bad about your body, you will become unmotivated and it will seem impossible, but it's not!!!
6. Lastly, Treating yourself! I have never done well with "cheat days" because I try and cheat on my diet All day! Lol so what I do is I try to schedule it. If its something you've been wanting all week, work it in. Eat a low cal breakfast and work out for 15 more minutes. Just make sure you actually work it in and not just do it!

For me at home I have been hanging my favorite swim suit up for me to look at when I want to give up or take a break from a work out! Also I feel SO much better when I'm dieting not just because I can see the effects(slowly) but because I am eating better too!!

Also I'm going to treat myself afterwards with painting my nails, while watching a movie and sipping on a 70 calorie drink!! Light vanilla flavored rum and Diet Coke!! Yum!

This picture really spoke a thousand words to me because it's always true!!

So WTF Happened?

Ok so I was supposed to be doing this March Madness Workout. I did this on the first of March, super easy. I was also trying to eat skinny as well as drink skinny. So sadly I've realized i've stopped all three...So tonight I have decided I am picking up right were I stopped.

Everyone has some sort of obstacle that is hard to deal with when dieting. For some it's food, some it's giving up their beer/liquor. For me it's going out of town. Lately we've been going almost every other week(for a few days) to Drew's parents house. Which I love going to because it's like a mini vacation, including vacation-like food and drinks. We almost always go out to our favorite steak house, which serves my Favorite cocktail. And his mom is a great cook so it's really hard to resist! I also don't exercise while I'm there. Well today this is our second day here and already I've had a unhealthy lunch. So tonight I'm going to try to start undoing the damage!!!
First I'm going to make myself eat a salad. No matter where we go or what we have! Secondly I will not be having any type of fruity or frozen drinks except for a vanilla flavored vodka with diet coke= 70 calories. That's if I do my full work out!

Here goes!

For That Hippie Long Hair

So last night through my intoxication I decided to try an Olive Oil hair treatment. I noticed the other day that since I've been using my straightener a lot more lately my poor hair had some Pretty bad split ends!! So I went online and looked up home remedies just for that!

You take 1/4 cup of olive oil and heat it up for about 15 seconds maybe a little longer but only until it gets warm. Make sure it's not too hot! Next take a little oil in your hands at a time and run your hands through your hair. Do this until your hair is covered, now put the extra left over in the ends. Now let it sit for a few hours, I did it for four, some even leave it in overnight. After you've let it sit for a while, wash your hair. I used shampoo twice, also make sure you wash your body good as well so no oil is sitting on your skin. Let your hair dry naturally. I wouldn't recommend doing this the night before work or a special event because after you let dry naturally it will most likely still be a little oily so I did it at night let my hair dry, went to bed and washed it when I got up!

I definitely recommend this treatment. It made my hair feel so much better!!

Skinny Hippie Peach Sunset

Ok so I'm trying to become a little more creative with my drinks trying to get as low cal as possible!!

Peach Sunset

You'll need a 1 oz shot glass and a martini glass. Also it's calls for peach vodka, toasted coconut, a little Karo Lite syrup(don't worry just to coat the rim!), grenadine and orange rise crystal light.

First toast your coconut. You can do this in the oven or in the microwave for about 30 seconds but watch carefully it can burn quickly! While it's toasting Lightly(It doesn't take hardly any at all) coat your rim with the Karo Lite syrup. To me it was easier to use the tip of my finger to do this so not to use too much! Next put 1 teaspoon of grenadine into the bottom of your martini glass. Then add the vodka and half a packet of crystal light. Next top it off with Sprite zero! Now you're got a refreshing drink ready for summer!! Worth only 90 calories!!! Enjoy!!

Good Morning!!

Well after my pre march madness work out( I will post tomorrow!) I wasn't very hungry so I decided to go with a light breakfast. Also I woke up with a cleaning itch wanting to clean everything.. Well sadly I have to work today and definitely don't have the time this morning! But luckily I only work until 2pm today so I can when I get home... I hope I still want to clean and won't have to make myself do it!!

So about the Green Machine! It looks weird and even sounds a little weirder when you read the side that tells you the fruit servings and what's in it. But this is so yummy. And at 140 calories per 8 (filling)oz it's not a bad breakfast! This would also be great if you're detoxing or going Ina liquid diet for a day or two!!

Soo here goes it!!

I have been posting on here a few Skinny Hippie Recipes and Drinks(my new name for low cal recipes) So today I decided to measure my waist. My waist I was ok with.… then I measured my hips and Wow! I didn't expect it at all. I will go ahead and say I weigh about 143lbs and at 5'6.5 that's not a bad weight but my waist measures at 35 inches then my hips go up to 40 inches... That would probably be the big butt that my mom teases me about! I don't want to lose weight, I want to be healthy and fit! So tomorrow starts my first work out day!! So here we go!! I will post my new Skinny Hippie recipes and drinks whenever I make them!! So Stay Posted!!

My Skinny Hippie Pomegranate Margarita

This margarita is only 85 calories!!!! Seriously!

You'll need tequila, ice and 1 packet pomegranate crystal light. I am using a 1.25 oz shot glass and also a shaker. If you have a normal size shot glass it will most likely be 1.5 oz instead of 1.25 which will work. If using a 1.5 oz shot glass the drink is still only 100 calories!!

Take your martini glass(any glass will work!) and salt the rim. Next take about 1/2 cup of ice and pour into your glass. Next measure out 1.25 oz of tequila, pour into shaker. Next take Half of the packet of crystal light and mix with a cup of water, pour it into the shaker. Shake a few good times. Now pour over the ice and Enjoy!!

Skinny Hippie Quesadilla

This makes two servings

1 Chicken Breast
1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
Salt and Pepper
1 tbsp fat free Zesty Italian dressing
1 tbsp lime juice
2 slices of American fat free cheese
Homemade salsa
Tortillas(2)

Chop chicken into inch pieces then put into a small skillet at medium heat. After a few minutes add all the ingredients to the chicken and let it finish cooking. Next set chicken aside. Set oven to 425 degrees (I have a quesadilla maker so it's a little easier for me) Put half the chicken onto your tortilla. Tear the slice of cheese into small pieces, put on top of the chicken. Next top with salsa. Put your 2nd tortilla on top and pop it into the oven just enough to melt the cheese and toast your tortillas. And there you go!

It's roughly 310 calories per serving for a quick and yummy lunch! The calories can vary due to how low cal you can find some of the ingredients and what you like to use. Also you can cut the calories by 100 calories if you only use one tortilla and just fold it over!

And stay tuned for my skinny hippie margarita tonight!!

…So tired...

Well I just got off work from a shift that was only 8 hours but felt like 16. But I have had a pretty good day before that. But I've got BIG news!!!!

Drew had a job interview and got a call back, which he ended up getting the job!! Which is great because it is a job and seems like a good one on to have! The only semi scary part is we are now moving… which is kinda scary because there will be a lot of changes. 1. I have never really been away from my family except for an apartment 10 minutes away 2. I have never lived anywhere were I don't know at least 10 people(I will know one in the general area about 20 minutes away). 3. We are moving into the city, from a small town that I grew up in. 4. It will be my first time paying rent/utility bills in two years.

On the other hand I am very excited to be able to move somewhere different, and I'm excited to be able to decorate the new place(wherever it may be). It will be a new area and a new beginning. As well as a new opportunity for me jobwise. Also a Huge step for me and Drew :). I've looked at a few places around the area and most of them are super pricy so I'm hoping we can find a cute place at a reasonable price :-). I will keep you guys posted!

For now though I'm going to enjoy my skinny cocktail(for recipe look below) and watch an old favorite of mine, Hercules, before I just fall asleep.

Until Next Time!!!

Skinny Cocktails

So this is my version of a yummy cocktail with about the lowest calories you can get!

In this drink I had 1.5 shots of vodka(any flavor) over ice. Next I used half a packet of Orange Rise crystal light then pour sprite zero(any zero calorie lemon line soda will work!) then stir! So easy and refreshing not to mention low cal!! Enjoy!

I have also tried the blueberry crystal light with this and it is So good too!

Let's get started!

Well this is probably my third attempt at a blog. My first blog tried two years ago which was a food and recipe blog. As you can see didn't last. The second one I created was on a weird site with no customizing whatsoever, which I hated. I love customizing almost everything! So here we go! As I said in my description this will be a pretty random blog. I have a lot of new recipes I've been wanting to try along with a lot of DIY ideas! I will also probably get on here time and time again to talk about my week. Now a little more about me. I call myself simple/complicated. Because some of the time I love simple things and live a simple life but there are a few times in my life were things get complicated. I am a little nerdy/weird too but in a good way. I think I might have been born in the wrong time period because I truly am a hippie at heart. I try to embrace that side of me. I love to cook, enjoying a good housecleaning session now and again. I love handmade things whether it's a blanket or a random DIY lampsahde bowl(which btw I will be making soon so stay posted!) I have a wonderful family and a wonderful boyfriend named Drew. I also have a wonderful dog named Tucker. If you haven't noticed yet I have a lot of wonderful people and things in my life. I am very blessed and I keep trying to remind myself of that when I get stressed! Well so I guess this is it for my blog opening so ✂🎀 Yay for Grand Opening!
